STOCKTON SINCE 1994 · SAME-DAY APPOINTMENTS

Radiating pain after an accident? Stockton chiropractic care since 1994.

Pain that shoots down the arm or leg after a crash is a nerve signal. We do a careful neurologic exam, X-rays when needed, and conservative care to settle the source.
UNDERSTANDING THE INJURY

What is Post-accident radiating pain?

Radiating pain usually means a spinal nerve is irritated. After a crash this can come from a disc bulge, joint inflammation, muscle spasm pressing on a nerve, or all three. The pain may follow a specific path down the arm or leg, sometimes with numbness, tingling or weakness.

COMMON SYMPTOMS

What you may be feeling

Sharp shooting pain

An electric or burning path down the arm or leg.

Numbness

Patches of skin that feel different or asleep.

Tingling

Pins-and-needles in the hand, foot or along one side.

Weakness

Grip strength is down or the leg feels heavy.

Worse with sitting

Long drives or desk time spike the pain.

Pain with coughing

Cough or sneeze sends a jolt down the limb.
OUR APPROACH

How we treat post-accident radiating pain

We do a full neurologic and orthopedic exam, on-site digital X-rays, and refer for MRI if the exam suggests it. Care may include specific chiropractic adjustments, flexion-distraction (gentle disc decompression), soft-tissue work, postural correction and home exercises. Many radiating-pain patients respond well to conservative care.
