PAYING FOR ACCIDENT CARE
MedPay, letters of protection, and how accident care gets paid in Stockton.
If you were hurt in a car crash and worry about paying for treatment, you have more options than most people realize. California auto insurance, MedPay, and attorney letters of protection can cover your care so you do not have to delay treatment. Here is how it works at Premier Chiropractic.
What MedPay covers
MedPay (Medical Payments Coverage) is an optional add-on to your California auto policy. If you have it, it pays for reasonable medical bills after an accident regardless of fault. Typical limits range from $1,000 to $10,000. We bill MedPay directly so you do not pay out of pocket up front.
What a letter of protection is
If you have hired a personal injury attorney, they can issue us a letter of protection (LOP). This is a written agreement that your medical bills will be paid from your eventual settlement. We treat you now, you focus on getting better, and payment comes out of the case resolution.
What if I have health insurance
Health insurance can cover accident care, but using it on a third-party claim usually means your insurer will seek reimbursement (subrogation) from your settlement. For most personal injury cases, MedPay or an LOP is the cleaner path. We review your options at the first visit.
What if I have neither
We see patients with no insurance and no attorney every week. We offer transparent cash pricing and payment plans, and we can refer you to local personal injury attorneys who work on contingency if your case warrants it. Do not let payment fears delay care.
How Premier Chiropractic handles billing
Our staff verifies your coverage at the first visit, explains exactly what you will owe, and handles the paperwork with insurers and attorneys. Dr. Schlenger has been documenting auto accident cases in Stockton since 1994, and our notes are designed to support whatever pathway pays for your care.
