SPORTS CHIROPRACTIC

Sports Chiropractic in Stockton, CA

Performance-focused chiropractic care for athletes, weekend warriors, and active adults. Official chiropractor of UOP Tigers Basketball and the former Stockton Heat.

Built for Athletes

Dr. Cazares is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), one of the few in the Central Valley. Dr. Schlenger has served as the chiropractor for the University of the Pacific Tigers Basketball program and the former Stockton Heat professional hockey club. We understand how athletes think and how athletes need to be treated, with care designed to keep you in the game, not on the bench.

Performance vs. Injury Care

This page is about performance and prevention. If you are dealing with a specific injury from a recent game, practice, or workout, our sports injury page covers acute injury treatment. Many of our athlete patients use both: acute care when they need it, performance care to keep needing it less.

What Sports Chiropractic Addresses

Sports chiropractic optimizes how your body moves, recovers, and resists injury. We typically address joint mobility and asymmetries that limit power output, soft tissue restrictions that reduce range of motion, biomechanical issues that lead to repetitive strain, recovery between practices and competitions, and pre-event preparation. The goal is to make your body more resilient so small things do not become big things.

Common Patient Profiles

Our active patients include high school athletes balancing multiple sports, college and club players in season, recreational runners and cyclists, CrossFit and weightlifting athletes, golfers working on rotation and consistency, and weekend warriors who just want to keep up with their kids. The fix is rarely just one thing. We look at how you move, what you do all week, and where the weak link is.

Techniques We Use

Sports chiropractic care typically combines several tools: chiropractic adjustments for joint mobility, soft tissue work such as myofascial release and instrument-assisted techniques, corrective exercises to address the underlying biomechanical issue, kinesio taping for support during activity, and rehab progression so you return to your sport stronger than you left it.

Pre-Event and Post-Event Care

For competitive athletes we offer pre-event tune-ups, typically 24 to 48 hours before competition, and same-week post-event recovery sessions. Many athletes find that consistent maintenance care, even just twice a month in season, dramatically reduces the small nagging issues that compound over a long season.

Youth and High School Athletes

Young athletes are growing, training, and competing all at once. We work with parents and coaches to keep growth-related issues from becoming chronic. Sever’s disease, Osgood-Schlatter, growth-related back pain, and the recurring “tweaks” that sideline kids are all things we see and treat regularly.
